Architecture Kata at Spektrix

We're thrilled to announce an exciting LSCC event on April 24th, co-hosted alongside Spektrix.

Join us for this session and get the chance to flex your architectural design muscles!

What's the format?
You'll be split into groups and have a business problem to solve. You'll be tasked with designing a technical architecture to meet that problem context. As with real-life you'll have to manage various trade-offs in your design and interact with a Product Owner to clarify your questions.

At the end of the task each team will showcase their architecture and technology choices back to the wider group as part of a group discussion.

Whether you're a seasoned coder, software architect or new to the scene, you're invited to share insights, discuss best practices, and learn from fellow participants. No prior session attendance or architecture knowledge is required – just bring your enthusiasm. No laptop is required for this session, we'll provide each group with paper, pens and sticky notes to support the activity.

Food and drinks will be provided with vegetarian, vegan and non-alcoholic options available.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Lightning Talks at Aventum

We are very excited to host this event at Aventum, a global (re)insurance group that operates across both the underwriting and broking sectors.

Join us for a series of lightning talks discussing technology, practices or whatever else takes our fancy.

If you're using some new technology you think others would be interested in, if you've got a design or some code you'd like to discuss, if you'd like to discuss a specific practice, a problem you are having at work, something new you have discovered or you'd simply like to see what others have got to say - come along and join in the conversation.

How does it work?

If you've got a cool demo, some new technology or just something you think the group might find interesting, controversial or just plain funny, bring it along and share with the group!

Don't worry if you've never given a lightning talk before - this is a great opportunity to give a talk in a friendly environment. We'll have a screen for presenting slides (if you wish) and all talks are restricted to no more than 5 minutes. You'll also get an opportunity to answer the most upvoted question after your talk has finished.

You can use slides or not - whatever you feel comfortable with. Some of the Codurance team will be on hand to get things kicked off and provide friendly support and feedback.

How to submit your talk
To apply to deliver a lightning talk at this event, please complete this form as soon as possible. We will contact you by email to confirm your place in the lineup. There are limited slots available so submit your talk idea early to avoid disappointment! Questions? email natalie.gray@codurance.com for any advice or support.

There will be pizza and drinks provided at this event sponsored by Aventum.

There's only room for limited numbers at this event, so if you change your mind please update your RSVP so others can come.
